LYAC Launches T.A.L.K. Campaign

On February 21, 2017, members of the Lewiston Youth Advisory Council launched a positive communication campaign entitled "T.A.L.K." The acronym stands for TREAT ALL LISTENERS KINDLY.

Jazy Dumas, Chair, notes, "LYAC wants to encourage individuals to communicate with others in a respectful way. Whether the conversation is at school, home, out in the community, or in political discussions, we are asking people to share their perspective, not their attitude. In today's world, we all hear it and see it: put-downs, bullying, insults, and social media hateful words. Words are powerful, and we hope more people will start using them in better ways."
