As the July 2013 - July 2014 LYAC membership wrapped up its tenure, the group wanted to serve as positive role models for Lewiston children. As a result, they partnered with Androscoggin Head Start at Coburn School for an afternoon of fun and learning on June 9, 2014. The theme of the day was "Learning About Planting," which included story time with the book "The Tiny Seed," planting blueberry bushes outside, receiving a seed in a cup planting surprise, and "blueberry" face painting. Sand art and bead making also occurred. The children also received a personal copy of the book compliments of donations from the Lewiston Firefighters Association.
