Maintenance Technician

The maintenance technician is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the municipal fire alarm signal system. With numerous fire alarm box systems to track and maintain the division is in close contact with the community. The maintenance technician is also responsible for the supervision of the fire alarm fee program, which includes both annual and false alarm fees. The alarm division has been active in assisting the administrative division in the ongoing 911 consolidation and related projects.

The maintenance technician is also responsible for all communication systems within the Fire Department: i.e. telephones, two-way radios, voc-alarm systems etc. The maintenance technician is also responsible for the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Program. The program consists of purchasing; upgrading, repairing and yearly fit testing of the SCBA Units.

The Maintenance Technician maintains the Fire Department Multi Gas Meters, Portable Gas Generators for the Sub Stations and on the apparatus and performs repairs to small equipment such as hand lights, cords, flood lights and associated equipment.
